Train Day History

Ashland Tain Day started out as a celebration and recognition of Ashland’s railroad history at the Ashland Library. It was an immediate success. Due to the popularity of trains with everyone, the event grew bigger and bigger each year until it expanded beyond the library with additional activities, and eventually evolved into an all day family train festival. We now have activities, displays and music at several locations: Ashland Library, the Hanover Arts and Activity Center, the Ashland Train Station, the Ashland Coffee and Tea, the Ashland Museum and Red Caboose, and the courtyard of the Ashland-Hanover Shopping Center, Off and Dancing, the Henry Clay Inn, the Ashland Firehouse Theater, the Ashland Farmer’s Market and the CSX Stage – the Town Municipal Parking Lot.
